Yo yo. My Fury X has started "rattling" when passing a certain speed (around 48%). Any idea what it is? At first I thought a cable or something was just clipping the fan but there's nothing there and that would clip at lower speeds too... Is it a bearing or something? RMA?

I've just got the same on my old 7950 that is out of warranty. I'm going to take it out, give it a good clean to get rid of any dust / debris that may have got into it with some compressed air, etc. I'll also check to see if there is anything that can be tightened that may have loosened over time. In all likelihood it will be a bearing though...

Reasonable excuse I think to look at replacing my crossfire setup with something new! I'm completely baffled with what to replace them with though!

If it is out of warranty you could always just add some grease to the inside of the fan then wipe it out, normally the bearings start to go and make the rattling noise you describe.

Probably a loose fin on the heatsink or a broken fan bearing.

It will be bearings or rubbish/dust. Could be bushes but I doubt it as they last forever on PC fans.

Clean see what happens, if its still there just get a new fan they cheap enough. ;)
