I've had my system that I bought from Overclockers just over 3 years now. Recently I think the bearings or something has gone wrong with one of the fans (Not too bad considering its over 3 years old).
With this in mind, I thought now would be a good time to probably upgrade the fans in my system to something better/quieter etc.
These are the main specs of my system,
Titan Goliath Intel i7 920 2.66Ghz @ 3.40Ghz Quad Core
Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz Overclocked to 3.40GHz
Gigabyte EX58-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
Akasa AK-967 Nero Direct Contact Heatpipe CPU Cooler
Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel
Samsung 830 128GB SSD (Operating System Drive)
Seagate 500GB Hard Drive (Storage)
Corsair TX 650W ATX2.2 SLI Compliant PSU
I know the fans in the Antec 300 are TriCool with the back being 120mm & the top fan being 140mm. I think they are daisy chained together with the 4 pin power connectors connected to the Corsair Psu.
On that basis, what would be the current recommendations for replacement of these fans? What ones would be better than whats in there at the moment and be compatible with my motherboard/system?
I'm looking to purchase the fans from Overclockers a.s.a.p as the noise off of the broken fan is driving me bonkers. The fan still works, its just extremely noisy (This noisy fan happened after i'd given my system a proper clean out, which I've done before with no issues).
