Well thought this might interest a few people... Have run a little experiment showing the effect of Fan Speed on CPU CoreTemps...

A little background first...

Test was carried out @ 3.825Ghz on my rig consisting of 3 Delta's and a Ultra 120 - Extreme more info on the rig can be found here

I just wanted to demonstrate how airflow effects temps but also given various fanspeeds people should beable to get a "ruff" idea of where there fan cooler fits and what they could get if they could put up with some jet engines...

For the test I ran a control of my system at idle and then a large FFT's test to show load temps... I didnt use small FFT's as I didnt want to fry my CPU @ lower fanspeeds... I also am running at 3.825 Ghz as I tried this at stock and got bugger all difference in temps :) so needed a setup that put some heat out :)

I should mention ambient according to the heating in my hall is a rather toasty 24c (g/f is ill!!)

So Here Are the Idle Temps:

And The Large FFT Temps:

Very nice comparison there, you certainly have been bust, what with the overclock and all :).

Presuming you rarely have the fans on max as i would have thought it would be too noisy? Or does that not bother you too much?

at that clock I can run the fans @ 1800RPM and not break 55c on my cores gamming.. at that speed they are no louder than any "normal" fan, for surfing the net etc... they are down @ 1000RPM and silent
