After getting a new heatsink and fan, my stock intel heatsink is looking very sad, and is probably going to be thrown away. However, it still has a fan attached to it, and because you can never have enough case fans, I'm curious as to if I could remove it and stick it somewhere on my case (Antec 900).
The main problem would be powering it, since its got one of the small 4 pin thingies, and I'm not sure if there's anywhere else on my mobo that I could plug it. Is this possible, and would it be worth it? I think with a few elastic bands I'd be able to attach it to the side vent :D

You never know who you might want to throw it at,.....

Yeah dont bother using it as a case fan they are jsut orquard (i was tempted to do with with an old 939 fan but it didnt work out all that well)

I have an Antec900. Noise doesn't scare me :D
But on the advice of you people I'll stick the heatsink back into a box somewhere, just in case.

had a stock cpu cooler in the cupboard for over a year and just removed the push pins to replace my dead ones, so like has been said keep it for a rainy day :D
