Fan Socket

I`ve upgraded my sons rear fan from a 80mm Molex connector to a 120mm 4 pin Pwm connector.
On his motherboard are only 3 fan sockets. CpuFan, SysFan1 & SysFan2.
I have connected the new fan via a 3 Pin Y splitter to SysFan2 which also powers the front intake fan. Is this correct? Or can I plug it into the CpuFan via a Y splitter and take advantage of the Pwm?

Surely your cpu cooler is plugged into the cpu fan socket !?

You have done correct with sysfan2.

edit, doh seen splitter, just leave as is.
