Hi all

So I've set my fan speed to the curve I want and the system is a lot quieter which is a definite bonus... However in the BIOS I was tempted to change the CPU fan curve... Is that something you all do? If so what sort of minimum is there?

Cheers

Mine if it helps-

0C - 20%
45C - 30%
50C - 70%
60C - 100%

If you are wondering why I max it out at 60C its because it catches the spikes sooner and stops it from gong over 65C if that makes sense, if I had it any higher the max temp would be higher. You also cant hear the cooler over the case fans at that point.

Brilliant thanks bud, so if I set a limit line will it still control it if it goes above that temp?

Sorry I'm not sure what a limit line is, maybe its a feature of your board, mine is MSI

My graph is made with two things in mind BTW, complete silence in windows and high RPM in games, same goes for my case fans which use a different graph

Sorry bud I have an MSI board I just mean if I put my highest dot thingy at 60 degrees will it still control the temperature if it then exceeds 60 in games... I basically want the way you have it... Silent when on the Internet and then doing its job in games

If you plot it so its 60C at 100% fan speed the fans will be running at their maximum speed until the temp drops.

Be aware though, I have a B450 Pro Carbon and its 20C out in the BIOS (Cant remember what BIOS version) they might have fixed this in newer versions. Basically if you link a fan to CPU temp you have to add 20C so in my BIOS my graph looks like -

0C - 20%
25C - 30%
30C - 70%
40C - 100%

But in Windows its as I posted earlier -

0C - 20%
45C - 30%
50C - 70%
60C - 100%

Really annoying! So if you use my graph and notice the fan RPM is no where near as high as it should be its because of this issue.

Ok brilliant cheers bud i understand it now, I'll have a look at the BIOS in a mo and set some fan curves for the CPU and monitor it :)
