Do these types of cables reduce the amount of voltage fed to your fan? If you split a 12v output into do you end up getting 6v to each fan?

Standard fan splitter cables will run any fan attached to them at 12v per fan. They just allow you to run multiple fans. However there are voltage reduction cables, like this.

Whilst only for a single fan, this cable drops the supply to 10v allowing the fan to run lower/quieter.

No because they run the fans in parallel. All cables drop some voltage over their length and have an associated power loss according to how much current they are delivering but this is less than 0.1V for most computer cables.

fan splitter cables run in parallel, so both fans will receive 12V, but the number of amps required from the motherboard or molex connection will be doubled.

this is never a problem with molex connectors, but sometimes can be if you are powering lots of fans from a single motherboard header. it shouldnt be a problem for just two fans unless they are the famously power hungry ones made by delta

yep, it is still 12V, but will draw twice the amps through the header
