I am pretty new to the world of watercooling and just completed my first custom system. However I don't like the look of the flexible tubing so I am going to go to acrylic and upgrade the whole water loop.

One thing I am struggling with are the fans. Currently I have a 360 and a 240 rad which will be put into my son's system. I will be buying 2x 480 rads and either a 360 or 240. This will mean 10/11 fans. At the moment I have 5 fans which plug into a lampton cm615 controller. This controller only has 6 ports. Ideally I'd like to keep this controller. Is there a way of connecting 4 fans into a splitter that then connect to one port of the fan controller?

I am sure I have seen something on YouTube that will do it but I can't seem to find anything on here or other websites.

I just received my splitter cable on saturday, Phobya Y-Cable 3Pin Molex - 6x 3Pin Molex 60cm - UV red - that's the name of it, got 5 fans on it, 3 intakes, 2 exhaust.

Simple Y-shape splitter cables are easy enough. 2 fans into one connector, x2. There are also others which will accept more fans. You can get 3-pin and 4-pin hubs, as mentioned, too.

The deciding factor will be how many fans you can plug in to each channel on the fan controller.

According to their webby, the Lampton CM615 has 15W per channel.
That means you need to add up the maximum wattage draw of each fan you plan on putting into each port (individually, or through splitter cables) and make sure you don't connect more than 15w to each single port.
I'd personally suggest keeping it a bit lower, say 12-13w if possible, just as a nice margin.

I have 9 fans myself.
Another thing to remember is that many fans running at lower RPMs often gives better cooling than fewer fans running high... and is quieter. However, most fans need a minimum voltage to get them started, which is higher than the minimum they need to keep spinning... and it varies between different fans.

It's all good fun!
