Hi, I have a silverstone FT02 case with AP181 fans.
3 fans have switches to control them High and low. I have a separate fan controller running all the fans but the built in switches seems to override the case fans every so often.

Can I just disconnect the switch wires from the fans?
I have had a look and there are 3 wires for power and 3 wires going to the switch. that's one fan not the 3.
:)

It rather depends on what the switch does. Cutting the end off or removing the switch might cause the fan to be inoperable, or maybe they might work again if you joined two of the wires back up.

Before you go hacking things off you'll need to understand what the switch does.

Or just throw caution to the wind and hack first and then ask questions later.

In all likelihood the switch is closed for full and engages a resistor when in the low setting, although that resistor could be onboard the fan or the switch.

Ok I think I will leave them then

Thanks
