Antec 300. Trying to connect my top 140mm exhaust fan to my newly purchased Scythe Kaze-Master fan controller. The 140mm comes with a 4pin molex plug and the Kaze-Master requires a 3pin fan plug.
So I bought an adapter: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CB-012-AK&groupid=701&catid=48&subcat=153
Connected it all up and with no luck, fan won't spin.

So I'm currently running:
[4pin molex] > [4pin - 3pin fan adapter cable] > [3pin fan - 3pin Kaze-Master plug]

Will not work for some reason. I have tried with different fans connected to different outputs. Plugged in my Noctua fan, which is on my Noctua heatsink and that works fun with the Kaze-Master. The LCD screen is fine as well...displays all 4 temps and all 4 fan RPM's when I have my Noctua fan plugged in instead of my 140mm exhaust.
The adapter is just not working.

Any ideas?

The fan may require more power than what the controller can provide.

The 140mm big boys are quite hefty and I have not heard of anyone running one on a standard fan controller but I may be wrong.

They are not that noisey at stock in my opinion anyway, you could always volt mod the fan. :)

Doesn't the 140mm fan have a built in three-speed switch?

If it has did you made sure it was switched to maximum before trying it on the fan controller? If it's on any other setting there probably isn't going to be sufficient voltage to start the fan.

That sounds likely. More power than it can provide. I will try my 120mm and use the adapter on that and see if it works.

Ya it does. Have it on maximum as I have all my other fans on maximum. On low the maximum they run at is 900rpm :p

sunbeam rheobus extreme 30w per channel

That means? Is that what each channel can provide or is that a different fan controller all together...off to google :)
EDIT: Ah I see..just bought this one though...will look into changing the fan to a 140mm with a 3pin fan connector as standard before I look at a new fan controller :P
