Current PSU by coolermaster has the fan facing downwards, Most the Corsair RM X series have it facing upwards.
Does it matter which way it is ? And can you put it " upside down " ?

As long as the fan has access to air flow, it should make no difference, I've always put my psu's so the fans are at the "holes" for the airflow.

Sorry bud I could not answer that tbh as I've never looked into those PSU's

Ok dude.
Just a bit of googling and the X version is superior. According to Google
The RM750 has 100W less capacity, and like its big brother, it uses Chinese Elite caps and a Hong Hua rifle bearing fan. The slightly more expensive RM750x comes with Japanese caps and the high-quality NR135L fan

Overclockers are selling the RM750X in white for £120 which is a good price considering the RM650X is about £105

Just make sure if your fan is down that your case has decent feet to raise it slightly. Even with them if you have carpet you need to be careful that there is some space for it to grab fresh air.

Keep turning PSU around until you have fan in direction you want it...
All PSUs have fan on same side!
(unless it's tiny 8cm fan)

Ya it's on carpet and has legs. Should I prop it up a bit on a book or something?

If you can, put it in the case with the fan pointing up. It doesn't make a lot of difference what you do but there are circumstances that decide it for you. Anything that limits the flow in to the PSU is one of those circumstances and if the PC is going on a carpet it is best to place it with the fan up, provided of course there is nothing else restricting flow if it is pointing up!! If there is then yes you can place it on a piece of wood or whatever to make sure the PSU gets a good supply of air.

I’m not sure it makes a lot of difference as long as the fan is facing a vent. With the fan down you do want to make sure there’s enough space between the bottom of the case and the floor.

My PSU is facing up and using the energy saving mode which doesn’t turn the fan on until it gets warm. I’ve never once seen it spin up so I guess the warmer air from inside the case isn’t bothering it.

There is also the consideration of if your PSU has a fan that is always on or has fan stop. The advice I read was that if the PSU shuts the fan off then it is marginally better to point up but generally it does not really matter providing the fan grill is not blocked by the case or carpet.

Mine gives that option, but i've set it to always on and facing down (case has vents) as i can't hear it anyway (if it makes noise i can't pick it up), i'd rather it's working when it doesn't need to and overcooling internals than working harder later when it does.

Ultimately i don't think there's a wrong way, do whatver suits your build/case.
