Hi,

i've a Fanatec 911 Turbo (non-S) and the 911 Turbo S dongle (for compatibility on GT5). It all works quite well, but i would have expected better tbh.

Steering and resistance are fine, but it doesnt really feel "right".

Like when undeersteering i'd expect the wheel to go light, clipping the kerb i'd expect a kick on the wheel - stuff like that. I get some elements, but a lot isnt right imo. When i use the wheel on my PC, in say CM Dirt 1, i get all the correct feedback, similar in Race 07, but not on GT5.

Is the FF just naff, or is the wheel not 100% compatible?

I don't think it's your setup, I've played GT5 with my 911 Turbo S and a DFGT, and the game seems lacking in several key areas when it comes to FFB, notably

1. A lot of understeer 'feeling'
2. No drivetrain effects on launch
3. Little vibration effect usage

FFB Strength and weight in other areas is superb, so it's a shame the subtleties seem to be missing IMO. For me, it does really show more when hotlapping, where all the nuances of feedback are required in getting those last few tenths..

not so sure, it seems the Thrustmaster 500RS seems to have some pretty good FFB on GT5 -> http://www.youtube.com/user/simracingtonight#p/u/0/SsV3bJnqH3Q

The main FFB strength effects are all present and correct, so I don't expect the T500RS to be any different, but all the 'key' nuances that let you know when the front wheels are losing grip etc are really subdued, or for example, when you set off manically wheel spinning off the line in a FWD Car, their is no real FFB Effect for it..

I've only managed to try the Fanatec and the Logitech (G27 and DFGT) products, it'll be interesting to see if they code in more FFB effects for the T500..

I only started really noticing whilst hotlapping, where you need all those little extra bits of feedback effects to maximise grip and manage slip angles..
