I've grown a bit tired of my Akasa Freedom XOne case so fancy a bit of a change!

I've scanned through pretty much the whole list on OCUK and really like the look of the Corsair Carbide 200R Compact as it seems to tick all the boxes for me!

My main requirements are nothing too "gaudy" (I like stylish sleek lines rather than elaborate fins and waves everywhere), USB 3.0 on the front panel, tool-free drive installation and ideally air filters on the PSU and main intake fan panels!

The cost looks about right too!

Can anyone recommend anything else before I pull the trigger or possibly give me any feedback on this particular model? (or possibly the same case but with the side window!)

One minor concern is the width of the thing - can anyone confirm the width because the dimensions are not stated on the OC page but on the rainforest it says 49cm x 27cm x 56cm which seems awfully wide for a "compact" case!?!?!? (I can't get the Corsair website to work to check there!)

Thanks....

You can't really go wrong with Corsair cases, the 200R is a good one. It might be worth checking this out as well, if you don't mind going for B-Grade item.

From the Corsair website, the dimensions are 497mm x 210mm x 430mm :)

Not sure I'm keen on the sound dampening in that one! (and it's not a huge concern anyway!)

Thanks for the correct dimensions on the Corsair, failing any better recommendations I think that might be the one I go for!

Can anyone recommend any additional fans that will work well in this case?

I don't know if I'm keen on white to be honest!

One slight problem I've hit upon though, the Corsair case has 2 x USB 3.0 ports on the front whereas my motherboard apparently only has 1 USB 3.0 connector (plus 2 x USB 3.0 ports on the rear panel)

I assume this means I've got to either leave one not connected or can I use one of the USB 2.0 connectors and use it at that speed? (not sure if the two are interchangeable??)

Hmmmm...

Just seen this on a review: Worth noting, also, that the USB 3.0 ports use an onboard connector, and Corsair doesn't bundle an adaptor for users with USB 2.0 motherboards

I'm assuming this mean that I need some sort of adaptor to use one of the front (USB 3.0) ports with the USB 2.0 connector from my motherboard??

Thanks for the offer but it wouldn't actually fit! I've got an under-desk bracket that is only 25cm wide so I'm limited in the size!
