Hey guys, I have lately been suffering from significant what I can only call "Particle lag" in BFBC2. Over use of smoke, or lots of explosions and my game starts to judder, probably around 15 - 20fps, until it clears, and it shoots back up to 60 - 70 fps.

I have been overdue an upgrade for a while now, so figured why not ask around.

Currently sitting with the system in my sig, so what do you figure is the best bang for buck upgrade?

I have predominantly been an ATI fan, my last Nvidia card being the 8800 series, so am not adverse to change, dependant on whether its warranted.

I am keen to go the 3D route, and understand that this is only currently available to Nvidia. (Eyefinity, although awesome, is not very practical for me and my current setup)

All that said, if for equal performance I can get a cooler running, cheaper ATI card, I will prefer it.

Ramble over, what would your suggestions be?

I run an eyefinity setup using an ATI 5870 and its flawless with BF2BC running on highest settings. That said it would probably be overkill to run it on a single monitor now but having the option to go to eyefinity at a later date is probably worth it (although I would hang on right now until the 6xxx series comes out).
