Fanless VGA Card

Leadtek do fanless versions of the 7600 gs and gt if thats any good?
Or you could invest in a watercooling setup and lose all your fans :D (bar rad of course ;) )

from my experience mid to high end gpus need some sort of cooling. Passivley cooled cards just dont cut it if your gaming for an hour or more.i use to have a gigabyte 6600gt and after 40min or so it would hit temps of 98*C and the game would start stuttering.

The card also warmed up my case by sometimes as much as 10-12*C which meant i had to turn my case fans up to cool the case and the hdd's. So all in all y rig got noiser not quieter which kind of sucked as i got the card to reduce noise.

This time im going to get a mid to high end gpu and watercool it (zalman res2). This way i can have my 1 case fan run at 5V 600rpm which should bring the system noise to around 19dB

You could just get rid of the fan on the 7600 and put a Zalman VF700 or VF900 on it. On the lowest settings they are completely silent, I mean completely.

Not completely silent, i know.

My VF900 is effectively silent at 5v. I can't hear it over anything else in my case. Even including the harddrive motor noise when the drives are idle.

I bought the fanless Leadtek 7600GS and I fitted a VF700 within two weeks as the heatsink was far too hot. The VF700 only needs to be run at 5V to keep the 7600 cool so it doesn't really contribute significantly to the overall noise.
