Fans and SATA connections

Hi Guys,

I have a couple of questions as this is my first build in quite some time, prob 10 years...

I purchased a fan splitter, after some advise, but I have no idea how to connect it up to my 2 aksas fans and motherboard??
I tried putting the two fan cables into the splitter and then connectedt he splitter to the mobo, but neither of them are firing up?

Is there a way I can control the speed of the Antec 900 fans (other than the internal swiches with High / Med and Low)?

How the hell do I connect up the CD drive and HDD with SATA? It keeps talking about Raid, but I just want to setup my CD and HDD?

Thanks

not sure why the splitters not working, from sounds of it it should
re the fans: few options,
- molex to 3 pin converter and attach them to mobo headers, set speeds in BIOS
- fan controller so you can contorl manually from front of case
- connect directly to PSU using either standard connection or get hold of low voltage connectors to run them at 7v etc
tbh its worth replacing them, if youre willing to spend a bit of money on it, I replaced the fans in my 1200 with Noctua S12s and its much better now
Re the RAID, ensure SATA configuration is set to SATA or even IDE in BIOS and not RAID, it should be by default, and ignore the prompt for pressing ctrl + I it should just skip past it

Are you talking about the Akasa PWM splitter? if so you still need to connect the 4 pin connector to the psu as well as connecting to the mother board for it to work. I'm not sure what the problem is with your SATA you'll have to popst more details.

Hi,

Thanks for the replys...

I managed to get the fans working, I had all the wires connected, but just to the wrongsection of the splitter.

As for the SATA, i just wasn't sure which port to use on the mobo for the DVD and for the HDD, does it matter which one goings into SATA0 and which one goes into SATA1? I think it is just a BIOS setup issue though, right?

Thanks
