Fans continue to spin after shutdown

Sometimes when i shut my system down via soft off my cpu fans continue to rotate. I currently have 3 sharkoon silent eagle se pwm models (2 on a TRUE) and 1 rear exhaust, all running via a pwm adapter. This problem doesnt happen very often but its a bit of a weird one. Anyone got any ideas.

is it vista? normally it sets the soft power off to set your pc on standby and not shut down

check the power settings

Check your mobo bios. Some boards will run the fans to clear any lingering heat after shutdown.

Nope not vista mate, im running xp home 32 and ive never altered any power features from default settings.

Asus qfan control in bios is enabled with the turbo profile (mobo is a p5q deluxe) the fans are controlled using asus fan expert in windows.

My PSU has the feature that spins all my fans for a few more seconds after shut down to get rid of any hot air.

Yep i remember having an enermax psu that had that feature as well.

My PC seems to do it if I use hibernate, any chance your PC isn't shutting down completely?

My laptop cooler runs when on standby too, even though the inbuilt fan is off - that's a different story though :-)
