I currently have a Antec P182 case (with pre-installed Antec fans) and an arctic freezer 7 pro cooling my Q6600. I'm looking to replace all three case fans as they have become noisy and I also would like to replace my cpu cooler with something better as I currently have my Q6600 overclocked to 3Ghz and its at 47 degrees at idle, I would like to overclock it to a higher clock speed.
I have chosen to replace the case fans with 3x Akasa AK-FN058 Apache Black fans, however they are 4-pin fans and I only have one 4-pin header (cpu) on my motherboard (Asus P5E) the rest are 3-pin.
So I am also looking at buying Akasa FLEXA FP5 Fan power splitter, as i'd rather let the motherboard control the fan speeds. One of the fans will be directly in front of my gpu which I do not want to be controlled by the cpu fan header. If i were to buy a 3-pin to 4-pin/molex adaptor would the fan run at its full rpm all of the time?
As for the cpu cooler i'm not looking to spend any more than £45, with that in mind what would be a worthy upgrade to a freezer 7 pro?
