i am wanting some fans that can move an good amount of air without sounding like a jet engine.
i just want to replace the stock fans in the boys cooler master case.

Rear is 120mm
Top 2 x 120/140mm
front 2 x 120/140mm
Bottom 1 x 120/140

now i dont want to use every fan point but having a good in/out flow would be nice.
i have always run 2 on the front one in the rear. but i am open to ideas.

what fans should i be running, led/rgb or none led i dont care but again the option would be nice
 
Money an issue?

Remove the PCI slot covers at the back to help move air too.

Easy suggestion is phanteks 140mm 2 pack at OCUK, about £16, good fans for very good price.
 
Phanteks will sort you for the 140s then. 2 at the front, maybe one 120 at the back, but not necessarily essential. Think about how the air will flow, normally fans at the top/bottom may interfere with smooth flow, rather than help overall. Is the bottom fan underneath the graphics card? If so, that could be handy.

Case it getting cleaned out, and a new cooler fitted, the ambient temps and going down but his cpu temps are going up so I was going to overhaul the lot at the same time. The spectres have done a good job but there 3 years old now

I may go with some spectre pros for new shiny look

probably more due to dust build up than fans maybe?
unless the fans are on their way out...

should still have some life in them tbh.
i've got gentle typhoons (okay, so maybe not the same class as the spectres), but they're going strong even though they're 6 years old

if you must get new fans, then i'd rather get the phanteks fans instead. better than the spectre pro, for the same price

I should have asked what CPU cooler you are using and what GPU you have. Helps determine how much airflow case needs to have.

Spectra's have a static pressure rating of only 0.62mm H2O @ 1000rpm full speed which is low. They are maybe enough in normal conditions with clean filters and 23c room, but if filters are a little dirty or temps are higher things might not stay cool. My systems at full load run about 1000rpm but in hot weather or dirty filters will run 1100-1200rpm .. sometimes even faster to move needed airflow. I would suggest some better fans like PH-F140MP with 2x in front and 1x in bottom. There is no need for exhaust fans and I would remove all PCIe back slot covers as Unseul suggested. With the PH-F140MP 2-pack pricing you could get 2x 2-packs and use one as rear exhaust or just save it for something else like maybe on CPU cooler.

I can't see the twin pack for the 140's

Cpu cooler is a hyper212 and is overclock to 4.6 via fsb clocking.
Gpu is a msi gaming 970 however when I can I will drop a 1070ti in for the boy the 970 is towing with 1440 now.
