fans for h100i

Corsair SP120, good and quiet. Think they are around £20-£25 for 2. I have the on my H80i.

I second this. Whilst I haven't fitted them yet, I'll be putting 4 x Corsair SP120 Performance Edition on my H100 in a push-pull configuration.

Not only do they look great but everything I have heard about them has been spot on.

The fans that come with the H100i ARE the SP120's. If you use them in quiet mode, they are the quiet fans. Otherwise they go up to the normal max rpm which is like over 3.000 and loud.

Don't replace same with same, keep them and use corsair link to put them to quiet mode.

They're SP120L. They're a generic version. No interchangeable rings & a higher RPM, 2700 vs 2300 (performance) & 1450 (Quiet). There's also no rubber dampeners on the mounts.

I use SP120 Performance on my H100i, controlled by my CPU PWM via a PWM>3pin converter (not needed if you buy the PWM version of the fans, I got mine before they were released). I've done it that way because I found Corsair link software to be a bit spotty when it came to controlling the fans, but then I was an early adopter.

I wouldn't bother tbh. You're not going to see any real gain in terms of lowering temps any further than if you just had one set in either push or pull.

What he said, different versions of the 120.

Akasa apaches are really really quiet while maintaining good airflow or typhoons IIRC give a bit more airflow with only a small increase in noise.

I second that :P

Push pull is not really of benefit to fans like SP120's or GT's except in extreme circumstances. Fans behave a lot like pumps, put two side by side (parallel) and you basically double the flow while maintaining the same pressure, stack two (series) and you don't really effect the flow but basically double the pressure.

Pressure has diminishing returns, you only need enough so that the resistance isn't impeding the airflow, once you've overcome that any more is basically wasted.
