Hi all,

What's the consensus on the standard fans that come with this case (1x120mm, 1x80mm)? Should I replace them with something better (and quieter?)

Also how about the side and top optional fan grilles... worth running some fans at 7v?

Cheers

I think the fans do a good job. My old case had twice as many fans this case is a couple of degrees cooler. BTW most of the PC-7+ come with 2x120mm fans, mine did anyway. Your best bet would be to see how you get on with the two standard fans then decide to either 7v them or get new ones.

D'oh it is 2x120mm :)

While they are pretty quiet I was wondering if there's anything quieter. Seems to do an Okay job as it is with my temps being reasonable.

I was doing a bit of thinking about how efficient it is with the AC FPro 7's fan directly behind the exhaust fan and was wondering whether it was driving air in to it too quickly for it to be expelled fast enough as there is hardly a gale coming out of the rear fan.

Has anyone found an optimum speed/voltage to run the Freezer Pro 7 fan at for this case? :)

I have my AF7 Pro set to Legacy and PWM in bios. This adjusts speed according to the CPU temps. My board is a DS3

hi again solari lol!

i have the same case but i yanked both the fans out and replaced em with xilence red wing from ocuk with rubber mounts.

pretty quiet fans and the output is pretty high 67cfm i think.

anything faster at the front and it makes a terrible whine as there is a silly X shaped grill which makes the fan whine if its too close.

i got myself a zalman fan bracket then with a fm-1 fan or something which is like 76cfm and mounted it blowing over the northbridge which u will want to consider as it gets so damm hot.

the bracket+fan is around £10 from quietpc it wont fit with my 8800 but u can use the holes at the top of you pc-7 case up where the psu is just drill it so its a little bit bigger.

Cheers mate :) The fans that come with it just don't feel like they are shifting much air to me that's all. Will take a look at your suggestions, many thanks :)

So is it 2x120mm or 1x120mm & 1x80mm?

Is the OcUK shop & Lian Li's website info misleading? See, also want to order this case with some fans but not sure :(
