Ive been reading in the latest CPC magazine that the Sharkoon Silent Eagles are the best fans for volume of air being shifted and quietness. Any one else recommend some good fans as far as i can tell the noctua vortex are too pricey and not very good in CPC's eyes nor are they the most attractive fans on the earth.

Cheers.

I can confirm that the sharkoons work great on the TRUE i used 2 of the 2000 rpm models on my black ultra to cool a 3.8ghz q6600, though ill say this, theyre certainly not the quietest fans, i ended up connecting them to a fan controller to quieten them down a bit, awesome cooling for the price, and they also look great, sharkoon also do a very nice pwm model called the silent eagle se.

Theese run at 400-1200 rpm from the cpu header, or from the psu with various voltage cables, ive switched to 2 of theese on my TRUE as the q9550 runs a lot cooler than my q6600 did.

Just thinking the 1000 rpm edition would probs be ok. However ive also read that CPC rates the Scythe S-Flex quite good. Would be prepared to spend a bit more for quieter cooling.

Also can anyone confirm how many retention brackets the TRUE rev C comes with. Im guessing it only comes with one as i dont want to order 2 fans and not be able to install the second, i cannot seem to see a retention bracket item on the site.

Yep, the 1000 rpm variant would be fine if your going to run at stock or a slight overclock. The 2000 rpm model is really only needed for high voltage overclocks, id suggest contacting ocuk's customer support forum/or calling them to ask about the number of fan clips supplied with the rev c, i know that with the standard TRUE only one set of fan clips was supplied, 2 pairs with the black edition, however cable ties make a good alternative to the wire clips.

Ahh yeah forgot how handy cable ties were. I shall give OC's a call in the morning to confirm... will be the best idea. Thanks mate.

The golf ball style dimples are to reduce air resistance and reduce turbulance when shifting air. It is supposed to aid the fan in throwing more air out of the back of it. Custom PC magazine rates them highly i was just asking how people rate them.

Its best to gather as much info about what your going to be chucking your money at before you buy.
