Hi guys. I have a Lian Li PC7 Silver case and a Tuniq Tower fan.

At the moment my PC sounds too loud, its annoying, its just as loud as an xbox 360 :(

Is there any SILENT fans i can use that i can put in my case and TT? I do want it pretty silent but i dont want the cooling to suffer as i have an overclocked CPU that i want to keep cool !

Cheers,
Adam.

I think you need a Decent CFM fan for the tuniq those fins tak some getting through.

My flatmate has an e6600 and a Passive Tuniq tower, only the rear fan being it creating any airflow. Works fine.
Will be fine with any fan, its nowhere near dense enough to be problematic.

Model: YATELOON D12SL-12
Dimensions:120x120x25mm
Rated Voltage: 12 Volts
Operation Voltage: 6.5~13.8 Volts
Input current: 0.30 Amp Max
Operation temperature: -10 to +65 C
Storage temperature: -40 to +70 C
RPM: 1350 +/- 10%
CFM: 47
dB: 28

I have that one tried it in my tuniq and it wasn't as good as the default fan which has an extra blade compared to normal fans on lowest so I would recommend getting a 1600 rpm fan.

Connect your Tuniq to the motherboard. it should control the speed depending on temp.

Not sure what you mean there? It's always been connected to the motherboard. hmmm?

i currently have this fan at the front of my case

And the standard lian li pc7 fan at the back.

Also, are you saying my TT would work alright without a fan?

EDIT - I've opend up my case and noticed my front fan was connected to a lead from my psu labled (H) for high i guess. The TT and back fan were direct to mobo. There were three leads coming from the PSU, H,L,L. So i connected them both to L, for Low. Now they are silent.

Not sure if im doing this right tho :(

After a mishap with my Tuniq fan I replaced mine with - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-006-SH&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=4

I find that up to about 75% it quieter and cools slightly better than the original.

I have these as case fans - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-000-XI&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=4 which are very good.

How can i change the speed of my TT? I've plugged it into the "cpu fan" slot on motherboard. But its always at 100%. I've never heard a change in speed in it since i got it.

I use Xilence Red Wings generally, although you can also get them in black - they are called Black Wings then :)

They push a decent amount of air and are very silent :)

Shop around and you can get them cheaper too :)

I bought a few of the xilence fans but they are far from quiet, even at 5v they still buzz, akasa ambers are quieter so I've gone back to them for the moment, heard a lot about the yate loons at 7v so gona try them soon

My tuniq is pretty quite even at 100% fan speed, you sure its this thats loud?

Yes, when i take the fan out the TT and turn the pc on, its SILENT, all you can hear is the hard drive loading things when it needs to.

When i plug the TT back in, its a pretty loud beast. You can hear it half way down the stairs lol
