Hi
Everytime I try to do something which requires a little more power rather than just browsing the web (eg games) all the fans go 100% and they seem to be louder than the sound. What can I do to control them while I play games or do anything else. Also, it is very quiet when idle.
Thanks

My specs:
X4 955 BE (stock cooler)
2GB XMS3
Zalman ZM-600HP PSU
500GB Seagate HDD
Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P
2 NZXT fans
2 crappy fans
XFX 4850

Well I just installed the PSU today but it happened before that. However, before I always blamed the rubbish PSU for everything.

And also when I try to control it via speedfan, the temps seem to hit around 60

You could buy "quieter" fans or disconnect the crappy ones as they are probably making the most noise. :)
If its always during games then its probably your graphics card fan - an aftermarket cooler could be quieter or a new card if you've got the budget.

I thought it might have been those too. But i turned them off to see what happens and it seems to be either the GPU or the CPU fan making all the noise.

get an arctic freezer 7 for your cpu, they are basically silent, better for temps and cheap. Not so great for huge overclocks but much better than stock.

GPU fan is also very likely, unless its one of those silent xfx ati cards. try using something to control the gpu fan, like msi afterburner, just watch the temps when you do this, so gradually lower the load fan speed.

ok i've noticed something now. I decided to turn my cpu fan down to around 80% and decided to convert a file. The temps hit 65c which is definitely not normal for me, even when it's under load. The highest I ever got before was around 50c. So looks like i'm gonna need a new cpu cooler.
