Ok, I can't stand my antec tricools on medium any longer, they gotta go!

I've been looking everywhere for a fan that pushes as much air with less noise. I just can't seem to find a decent trade off. Also the fact that CFM means next to nothing in the face of any sort of negative pressure.

I have an antec 300 and am currently replacing the front two tricools in favor of something that will push either the same, or more, air at a slightly lower noise.

Can some1 please suggest something good? I have bought a noctua NF-S12B to test out, but I am leaning towards the AP-14 gentle typhoons. Does anyone else have real experience of fans against the tricools?

Thanks,

Steve.

If this doesn't make sense, it's because I'm dyslexic... Contact me and I will explain in more detail. Or dance... Dance is good.

Do they push as much air as the antec tricool on medium? i know the cfm rating is lower, but those figures are missleading. Lets take the coolermaster sickleflow for instance, lies lies lies! That thing can no way push the amount they claim and at 2000 rpm it is not 19dbA. I also notice you have avexir ram, can you give some feedback on you experience? I did a fair whack of research but there is limited documentation and conflicting reports on these guys.

Thanks,

Steve

Noctua all the way but they do become noisy on full power so just as well most include a low noise cable which takes 300RPM off & makes them virtually silent.

I have 2 x140mms Enermax White LED Fans at the top of my case " blowing out " connected via the motherboard on " Standard" ( any higher and they do get pretty loud)in BIOS and not only do they look pretty cool , but they are very quite too :)

I have picked up some noctuas and some collermaster R4's. I'm building a rig for a friend and one for myself too soon so I figure that you can never have too many fans :P When I get them I will post the real world difference any of these make

I may pick up one enermax for testing too, but they are a lil pricey to go filling a case with them for ***** n giggles.

I use the Corsair sp120 performance editions, at 1000rpm they're really quiet and my system is kept nice and cool, unfortunately i don't have much experience with the tricools but the sp120's are great.
