i was looking at getting a new pu cooler to replace my freezer 64 pro and some new fans.

the F64 pro hits 2300rpm on a 92mm fan and its audioable but i game with headphones so dont mind so much. I would love it quieter tbh and think 1200rpm is a nice level.

my questions is should i get 3 Akasa AK-FN059 120mm Ultra Quiet Viper Cool Fan's to go in my elite 335 -

one front (to replace akasa quiet)
one rear (to replace 120mm that came with elite 335)
and one to go on the zalman flex that im looking at getting.

thoughts?

i can control the fans via mobo or fan control i have so thats not too much prob.

I idealy want a fan that will push a lot of air when running slower, say 1200rpm - does the viper fit the bill?

Oh and a noise question - will a 92mm fan at 2300 rpm be noisier than a 120mm fan running at 2300rpm?

Sounds like a plan.

Viper 1900rpm.

You'd need to slow them down with the PWM feature on your motherboard. Akasa Apache are a slower version of the Viper at 1300rpm. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-057-AK

The Viper uses the same quiet technology as the Apache but no fan at 1900 is quiet.

A 120mm fan pushes more air per rpm so you can reduce the speed accordingly to your airflow needs.

Cheers tealc, much appreciated.

The 92mm fan on the freezer 64 pro is tolerable at 2300rpm, if the viper at full 1900rpm is ever a bit quieter than that and pushes more, ill be happy :)

I would rather get the 1900 & restrict it as it at least gives me the option to up it if needed.

On the new heatsink, i cant decide between the zalman performa, zalman flex & viper fan or the spire thermax eclipse II.........
