Fans will not turn off

Ive had a custom built pc for around 3 months now, when i shut the pc down everything turns off except the fans. It is an intermittent fault, sometimes swithches off, sometimes doesn't. Can anyone tell me what the problem could be. Thanks

Sounds like there is still power in the system, a strange one. Most of the time, when you power down a system, it will have some residual power left in it (but not enough to power a fan for longer than a few seconds).

Do you have the fans powered from motherboard connectors or are they powered directly from the PSU? Are you shutting the system down or just putting it to sleep. What happens if you press and hold the power button to shut it down?

assuming all cables are connected correctly, would probably say its between your power supply and motherboard but could also be a power management issue.
