okie so my thread with fans that you can change the pitch wasnt a good idea people thought it to complicated an issue ( i dont tbh but heh ho) what about fan bodies with interchangable blades with diferent pitch and colors etc so you buy a fan body and fit the blades to suit what u need then everyone can run them at what ever voltage they choose 5v 7v 12v but still be able to adjust airflow etc ` ideas ?

there are SO many fans on the market, just pick the one with the "pitch" and colour that you want and be happy

I'm sure if it was in demand it would have been made already when it comes to fans. It sounds like an over complicated design and would probably impede the fans performance due to the fact it is not a one piece blade.

panyan nailed it just like Dice, there are so many on the market that it would make such a design redundant instantly.

im happy with my fans atm tbh it was just a thought cause it seems lots of people cant get exactly what they want, with regard to it being one piece most fans have a central hub and blades moulded in one unit so it would be a case of just removing the whole fan from the motor and swapping with another blade assembly that would be really easy to do a 5 minute job. why would it be redundent you could keep your motor assembly and fan body but by changing the impellor/rotor you could always then keep up with what ever color scheme etc that you wanted .....
its used in other industrys so why not on small scale pc fans it wouldnt be hard

see here one piece blade assy. im sure manufacturers use common motors with diferent blade assemblies its easy enough

Generally a good fan will have a design such that the most airflow is produced at a given rpm. Interchangeable blades don't feature as if you want lower airflow you'd just reduce the fan speed. This is much much easier than having a fan with a set of different blades, and cheaper too. At high rpm fan motors can be noisy so why would one wish to keep that noise and have less airflow? That'd be mental wouldn't it?

Some fans do feature easily removal blades and I suppose that similar fans from their range, made by the same oem might actually fit. The only difference you'd actually notice though would be aesthetics.

yer just wondered as so many people have problems with voltages and speed swapping say a blade with higher flow for a blade with a lower flow while keeping the motor at the same voltage and speed would alleviate those problems

as in you could by a fan kit say from xyz fans inc in a standards size 120mm with a set voltage and a standard motor but with 3 diferent fan profiles and fit the one you wanted rather than buy a fan controller or volt mod it was just a thought
