I have an Antec 1200 case and 240mm radiator - I decided on function over aesthetics and am going to bolt it over the 2 rear fans. These fans are normally exhaust i think. There are also 3 intake fans on front and a large fan on top.

Im bolting the radiator here because it wont look too **** and it's conveniently the same size as the 2 fans in situ and i can simply bolt it all together :D I dont fancy blowing the hot air from the case out into the radiator so im switching the rear fans to intake. I know this is not ideal for smooth airflow through the case...

Heres the questions:
1) Will having 2 rear and 3 front intake fans with the top fan as an extractor function effectively?
2) Will i gain any benefit from sticking the couple of extra spare fans that came with the radiator on outside of it so i'd have 2 fans pushing air into and 2 fans sucking air out of it?

Thnx, Will

Having the 2 rear fans still exhausting will probably only increase temps by a degree or two with the amount of cooling in the 1200. I say keep the rear 2 as exhaust and not ruin the natural airflow.

Its normally best to have 2 matching fans on a radiator if you're using push/pull but you will most probably still notice a little difference, Since you already have the 2 fans, Go for it.
