Fans

Due to the slightly unexpected arrival of an impulse 800d I've suddenly got to get some fans for a rad. The primary aim for the build is silence as my haf-x/h70 is really loud.

I know the scythe GT are pretty much the best fans for rads, however I don't really want to paint them and the tart in me want's red/red led fans. Are there any fans (3 pin only) that perform similarly at 1000rpm but are red/black and or have leds?

Also how many fans can you put on a 6 watt channel?

I think you need to decide if you want quiet or bling. i've yet to see a bling bling fan that's actually quiet and pushes decent air.

also - why 3-pin fans? PWM fans daisy-chained off the CPU fan header will actually stop with your GD65 motherboard if the CPU is very lightly loaded, which is exactly when you notice the racket. When you're playing games you don't hear all the fans working away 100%.

That's interesting, but I've got a 3pin fan controller. That's very interesting to know though.

if you've got the 5400 gentle typhoons (because they're black) can you throttle them right back down like the lower speed ones or do they have a higher cutoff rpm?

what about a completely white fan?
