Fantastic 4 PS3

I was just looking through the rainforest store, as my birthday is coming up, and thought I'd see about getting a few new games in.

I went to look at Ninja Gaiden, still listed at £40 for 29th June release.

Also spotted The Darkness, which is also out on 29th June, but at £35.
I thought the Darkness sounded quite good, so may end up getting that, and wait for Ninja Gaiden to drop in price or appear on the bay.

Then I spotted the Fantastic 4 PS3 game.
I've not read anything about this one, but it's £25 new.
I wondered why this is... the skeptical old soul inside me tells me it's because it's carp?

Just after an opinion about it really.

Also, anybody else going to get The Darkness / Ninja Gaiden at the end of the month?

Im getting the NGS collectors edition from the states at the end of the month, the darkness looks good but i may wait for that. Think i will get R6V instead of the darkness its out the same day, makes a change to have to make decisions on which PS3 game to buy. Seen a review of FF and it was about as good or bad as Spiderman3, it sounds like it was a bit like the Xmen game

I've never seen the XBOX360 version, but I have played it on the PC.
The performance on my system wasn't the best, though the game seemed (and looked very) good.

I never thought about getting the PS3 version.
So long as it looks, at least not too different, to the PC version, but has a good framerate, I may well consider it.

I hate to be somebody mentioning it again, but damn it's a shame there aren't more demos out on the store. I do like to try before I buy.

Ask McDaniel, he has Fantastic 4 on the Xbox360. It just seems to be a carbon copy of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or X-Men 3 then. So quite poor. I wouldn't even bother.

I'm not that big a fan of Vegas, I was expecting big things, which is a shame. It's not a bad game, but it's also not as good as Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2.

PS3 version of Vegas is fine, slightly lower textures than the 360 version (IGN) but the frame rate seems the same. (IGN)

This is true.
Played many poor games based on movies in my time.
Wasn't really expecting F4 to be any different, hence the £25 price tag, and also why I thought I'd ask you guys in here!

Best game which was a movie offshoot I ever played was Balderunner on the PC as it really captured the atmosphere of the film. Other than that I can't think of another on e which was any good!
 
Played this briefly on the 360 last night. Seemed to be a poorer version of Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Same button bashing but not as fun and your obviously limited to just four super heroes. Also heard it isn't a very long game with some people saying it's possible to get all the achievements inside 12 hours (Would entail completing the game twice).

Goldeneye is the obvious one, but there are others.

Chronicles of Riddick was decent and there have been some decent Star Wars games amongst all the rubbish.
 
Ah well, I think I've decided on The Darkness for now.

Probably get Ninja Gaiden in a couple of months.

Looking forward to the PS3 version of DiRT too.
