I need to take a chance with Bramble, for the past three weeks he's been substitued into my team and did really well for me. Unfortunately all my players played this week and again Bramble did good but he isn't going to come into my team :(

You don't need ronaldo, i do fine so far without him. It would be nice sure but i'll have to lose a few great players to make the cash for him. Too risky.

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago, but decided it was worth the risk. This week has more than made up for it :)

Whilst Bramble is having a good streak, I don't think I've forgiven him for his damn awful defending at Newcastle (yes I know the irony of that statement :P).

You have to remember that one player is more valuable then multiple players which together score the same or slightly more points; with the captains arm band you can only double up one players points. Ronaldo, on current form, is the best player to have as captain.

Also, I find 5 in midfield and either 1 up front or two, is better than 3 up front etc, as strikers seems to be a bit on the expencive side.

Last season i had him cr captain and i did crap. Mid table in my league. This season i made a decision not to get him and use the extra money to make the overall team better, and so far it's paying off. This week i'm on over 73 without him, could've been over 90 if i had tevez as captain, that was the mistake. I'm going to put my money where my mouth is and do without him. As for having 5 in midfield theory, don't buy that as they are just cr expensive, look at how much ronaldo, lampard cost at the start. And look at my current 3 strikers tevez, santa cruz, adebayor, they are about 4 mil cheaper each at start of the season and done great.

Then the rest of your team was poor then, as I think Ronaldo was one of the highest scoring players last year?

Anywho - my strat is paying off this year; strong midfield - cheap but wisely purchased defenders and a so/so strike force and almost in the top 1000 of the game. Proof is in the pudding and all that jazz :)

The reason my last season's team was poor was because i spent 12 mil on ronaldo, I basically had 3 star players, 9 average ones and 3 rubbish ones that never plays in the bench. So I had to make a lot of sacrifices for 1 player, yes it's nice when he score, but he doesn't score every week relying on 1 player for most of your points every week soon becomes clear to me that is unhealthy and dangerous. Also, I have 15 players who all play, and sometimes I have to put players like Elano, Cahill or Distin on the bench because I think the others will do better.

The good thing having him in your side is that he is and I don't question that is Ronaldo is a consistent performer, he makes things happen. So if you have him in your side it is often the logical and only choice to make him your captain. For more reason than not, most of your peers will do the same, by not doing so will means you'll get 50% of the points, and if he doesn't perform then you go down with everyone else anyway.

Without him in the side, means every game week i have to make a decision on who to make my captain. I have to look at the fixture list a lot more, consider the form of each players, the opponent they are up against and whether they are playing at home or not. This week making Fabragas as Captain as opposed to Tevez didn't pay off as who'd thought they would struggle against Birmingham ? BEfor ethe game there was a much chance on Arsenal do well as much as Man United, certainly at half time things were looking good.

Hopefully over the course of the season (16 games left), my decisions won't come back to bite me on my ass as I am top of my league with my friends at the moment and high (top 3 in the last month) in the OCUK league. It's not like my own theory hasn't been right either.

I have Fabregas and Gerrard in midfield as well. Tevez up front and a defence that has scored 3 goals this week. Just because you have Ronaldo in your team doesnt mean you have to kill the rest of your team. A few good purchases can free up enough money to have him in your team and reap good points.

Seems we have two fairly different strats - lets see how it ends :)

On a side note, how on earth did Santa Cruz get an assist for Jason Roberts' goal ? LOL I am not complaining but he passed it to him in the half way line and Roberts ran half the pitch the score. That is an assist but sometimes when a player passed to another and the scorer does a 30 yard screamer and is not an assists....this game is weird.

Forwards are over rated. Also, you need Ronaldo in your team if you hope to compete. 45% of people have him.

Subs - Knight - Wallace - Hunt - David James

Had a change Gerrard out - in Ronaldo - Eduardo out

I have 5.7 for a striker - what about Kitson or Kenwyne Jones

Any ideas

Santa Cruz didnt get an assist...... he should have though.

Haven't really kept up with this over the last month or so. Made a load of changes which is going to cost me 20 points, hopefully it proves worth it in the end.
