Fantasy Football

The mighty Inter-me-nan return for another season, this time wearing a delightful pink, purple and blue outfit:

I've kept Campbell, Arteta, Essien and Rooney from the end of last season, but replaced the rest. I've thrown most of the money up front and in midfield, but I think I still have a respectable defence. It will probably change before the start of the season depending on transfers, injuries etcetera.

Anyone know any decent (cheap) strikers for 5mil ?

I did have DJ Campbell in my squad, but it look more and more that he'll be leaving and joining Leicester in the next coming weeks :(

Was hoping DJ would be buy of the season...

Nothing decent, strikers that gets picked starts at more than 5mil. Lita (Reading) is the best of the cheap bunch at 6.5mil.

Earnshaw might not be a bad signing, he'll start for Derby and did fairly ok in the Premiership with West Brom a couple of years back. He's 5.5 though, same with Copra who might be another to keep an eye on.

Well DJ would have probably been a regular at Birmingham, but if the sale goes through I may have to reorganise my team again.
 
I wondering whether there's anyone who hasn't got Ronaldo in their team?

I'd definitely take Hargreaves out of your team seeing as midfielders get their points from assists and goals, Hargo is unlikely to get many/any of either. Same goes for the likes of Makelele and Mascherano.

also I know I'm taking risks with Torres and Tevez but it's a gamble I think will pay off - any ideas for a replacement to get Anelka outta therE?
 
Why take Anelka out? Good player who'll play every game. Anelka is a better player to have over Tevez and Torres at the moment. Might change once the season starts, but the safe option is Anelka.

Personally I think Pompy's Muntari will be a surprise hit this season, he's the same price as Hargreaves. Malbranque could be another option especially if Spurs fail to sign a left sided player.

Of course if you can save some money elsewhere (or if you've got any left) there's a whole wealth of talent available for 7.0 - Matty Taylor & Bentley being the most obvious ones. ;)

Regarding Tevez it might be worth keeping an eye on his situation as he might not be playing for anyone at the start of the season......

Yeh my whole budget is blown at the moment... I will be constantly monitoring the Tevez situation... I can always get him in transfers later on anyway...

I need a good replacement for Hargreaves and would love to put Carragher back in defense if I have the dosh!
 
Ok so I've been giving my team some thinking recently and wondering whether it's better having a core of players that will stay the same but then go to making one change a week according to who might get the most points that week.

So what do we think? Get your team together with a long term view or go from week to week making a change where appropriate?
