please ride better than the people i seen today.

your bike (for the most part) has 6 gears. Use them.

do not stick it in 6th, then go for an overtake at 50mph and the bike doesn't accelerate quick enough so you need to avoid a car head on.

the amount of people i seen riding sensibly today was impressively bad. if you feel the need to overtake on a 60mph road - do it quickly and do it safely. Don't make a splat on a cars bumper.

I ususally always blip down a gear, or two, when on the R1, even when it doesn't really need it; I like the warp speed surge past a slow mover

And for the love of god dont do what I've done a couple of times and just pop it down 2 gears and pop the clutch out, locking the rear is not good!

The other side of that is accellerating over-enthusiastically in the wet, fishtailing isn't fun

In all fairness we all passed a proficiency test and should know better.

Although I do agree how some people actually passed is beyond me.

Oh, and keep your distance ! The amount of people I've watched just pull out from close behind cars and lorries is just staggering
