We could close the thread - but it seems that some people are happy to discuss their forum activities publicly.

I, and I'm sure other mods, have nothing to hide in our decisions - so maybe sharing the discussions publicly might help aleviate any misconceptions?

Indeed. As long as people are happy with this, I'll post publicly. Finding time to respond to emails isn't always easy.
