No way I can compete, unless I win the lottery then I will be purchasing a large arsenel of EVGA SR-2 boards with complimenting Xeons and lots of 480s. But hey we can all dream

Toxic has a point FN

get down the shops and get a ticket man!

what are you waiting for!

i want to see you with an arsenal of SR2s by next monday.

but promise me one thing...

if you do win, then buy 5 SR2 bundles from OcUK
this way i can clock them for you and ensure that they are fully stable by running bigadv for a week :)

in my name ofc :D

Rofl...lottery sr2....xeon thunderball....euromillions ooo errr crunching farm. Win the lottery what would i do hmmm.....set myself up a battery (is there a collective name for a group of pc's i.e. goose - gander) of sr2 and 4 x480 wc in each, stick a nice pile of cash in the bank. Then i'd just go plain silly, hire ocuk for the day invite the whole team down and upgrade heaven....yeah i like that...a lot.....then lets see the gpu users group get trampled underfoot like a heap of doggy doo doo. That'll teach em to come poaching in these parts the scoundrels :D

Ha I'd want the fun of overclocking them myself though. What did that project excess produce both PPD and per WU with dual 6 core xeons RJK?

Just had a look because it was something silly. 52K from the slowest WU and 81K from the fastest. None of these were bigadv units, I guess a P2685 will break 100K from a single client easily.

i have a P2685 doing 85k on a single 4.2ghz gulftown at the moment

so rough estimate, the same unit would break around 170-180k depending on the clock.

then you would obviously have quad sli 480s for 15k ppd each

totalling in around 240k total from that system [or thereabouts].

[depending on how the sr2 was clocked of course]

Yeah I have a 8665 credit from P6041 (R0, C176, G38) which is taking AGES on a stock i7 920.
