Hi Greybeard,

Wondering if you can help, or any of the fellow OCUK fellas.

Recently, my PC has been randomly shut off while under load, I have done that basics like removing Overclocks, etc... But I have noticed that whenever it shuts off the PSU is so hot that it cannot be touched for anymore than a few seconds, this worries me as I have never seen this happen before.

I have made the PC shut off twice when folding, and the same thing has happened, with the PSU being really hot to the touch.

The PSU is question is a RM 750, while it has been fine for over a year, this has randomly started this week.
Upon further investigation, I have stumbled across this thread on the Corsair forums: http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=123484

Bear in mind my Unit starts with the lot code 1339, which I believe is part of the affected units with only one transistor for the fan system instead of two.

I have been in touch with the Corsair RMA service, and my ticket number is: #6635357
In terms of postage, usually when dealing with OCUK I have had a prepaid label to return the unit. But i'm going to RMA directly with Corsair, as i'm aware that there is a new RMA centre in Bolton UK.
So in terms of postage, is there a return label which can be used? I aware that due to the weight, it can cost quite a bit to post is all.

Any help in advance is greatly appreciated. :)

An update on my part too, after a little push (Winky ;)) I have also managed to get a free postage label.

I will package it up and send it off, but need to find a local DHL centre first.

Edit: what was what with your PSU?

I have not been told that, the issue for me is, where is the local drop off point. :p

I could have them come to work, but would rather not, as people can get rather nosey about my PC building habits, which then results in them asking how much I have spent in total which makes me sad. :( :p

I got mine from OCUK, actually went into the store as I needed a PSU exactly the same size as the RM, but with more power. Came in with measurements and everything!
The reason was because I would have to re-do my whole loop if it was bigger, so wanted a decent unit. :)

Was speaking to the lad about it all, it is like nerd haven in there! :D

But yeah, if you are considering it, get it, it is a great unit.

Mine hasn't arrived as of yet, was in Belgium last time I checked.

Have they mentioned why it will be on the 13th of July?

Edit: Mine is now processing. :)

Mine was an RM 750, so may well have some of those, it is in the 'processing' stage as of now, roughly how long did yours take?

Your right there is not harm in asking, will see how mine pans out too.
I would like to say thanks for sharing your experience with your Corsair RMA too.

Finally eliminated the whine issue from my PC, thought it was the new PSU, but it turns out I tuned my pump seeped, and doing so made a massive, annoying whine because of the way it is mounted, really need an EK tube res!

Wow great stuff on Corsairs part. :D

The problem for me is that I would need the pump mounted on the radiator, along with the EK universal bracket. Unless I am missing something? Front rad/fan -then- Pump/res.

I am thinking some thicker rads, a 140mm at the back along with a 360mm on the top, possible front (Or 240mm) along with a 240mm on the bottom. But again, it is the pump mount, it is currently on some velcro'd in HDD bays, which looks like so:

Not bad I don't think, but the vibration is great. Looking at upgrading the loop at the end of next month, maybe sooner, depends if the upgrade itch is too strong. #

Any suggestions at all?

I am in the same situation. My RM750 is back, and now on the MM.

I have bought loads of new WC stuff, new EK x140 res, along with a whole new set of radiators!

ED|IT: Oh and I got that EK Radiator mount too! :D
