Need a little bit of help here,

I've got a pre-interview assessment thing on the 6th of March in Leeds, its at 9am at a place on a street on Dewsbury road, now I don't really want to be driving around in an unfamilar city at rushhour trying to find the place just before an interview, so I plan to travel by train. Earliest train gets there at 8:32, but I'm not sure how far away dewsbury road is and how easy its to get to, does anyone know if its as simple as hoping on a bus, or if it'll involve a long walk and needing more time than I have, etc

Thanks in advance

if I remember, Dewsbury Road isn't that small! You might have a long walk or you will probably be able to get another bus.

Have you got any info on the exact location?

Have you got any info on the exact location?

Looking at the rough photocopies of what they have sent me it seems to be near a junction with 'old lane' and 'gipsy lane'

And to the post above, google maps is all well and good, but it sadly does not tell me if bus services run that way, which is why I was fishing for info from someone who had first hand experience of the city :)

Hmmm I can see Old Lane on the map but I don't have much experience with that part of the city.

All I can say is, there are plenty of buses that go down Dewsbury road from the City Centre, hopefully someone can tell you which one to get on!! If not - this link http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/yorkhumber/leeds/timetables/index.php might help as long as you know some landmarks.

I'd also say it certainly isn't walkable from the centre.

You could also try and call the company as it's obvious you aren't local so they might be willing to help further.

Thanks Vix :) , at least I know not to try and walk it!

Hopefully there will be someone here with experience of that area.

Will probably give the company a call later on

I know the area, there's two Old Lanes off Dewsbury Rd though (as mentioned its a pretty long road).

For an interview I'd say to get a taxi not a bus, especially if you don't know the area.

Thanks, guess that probably makes sense :), looping further at the map I have it seems to be near the old lane thats a short short distance from a jucntion with the A6110 if that allows you to place it?

You know how much of a wait there is for a taxi in leeds at half 8 ish? or is there normally plenty to go round

I couldn't tell you, but there's a big taxi rank right outside the main entrance to the station :)

Cheers gilly :) will have to see how it goes

(I know i've been asking lot... I'm just one of these folk that like to plan everything to the nth degree... which probably explains my dislike of driving in unfamilar places at rush hour... a phobia of ending up in the wrong lanes at daft junctions! :P )

I don't think it is possible to over-plan getting yourself to an interview on time. If there's anything else you need to ask, do so :)
