Hi, my girlfriend has just bought a used 206 1.1 as her first car andof course, she's excited about it!

Anyway, we are confused with using remote key for locking/unlocking - sometimes it works or sometimes not. I think it might has to do with our way of pressing, I don't know but what's the correct way to press? Manual book is missing from her car.

Thanks in advance!

Oh, I should have mentioned that we went to Peugeot dealer today and was told that the battery is ok as you can see red led lights up.

I was told that if the key is faulty, it need to be replaced for £60.

Should we press key twice or just hold down?

Actually it is one button key and it is year 2001 so I guess maybe battery could be weak but dealer would have pointed it out?

I will find out and keep u updated. :)

Hmmm, I have pressed it again and again several times, walking around the car...still not working! Look like this key is doomed to failure! :(

I have just opened the key and tested the 3v battery with my multimeter and it says 3.05v so it seemed to be healthy.

Where are the sensor in car?

This may be worth a try. Put the key into the ignition, turn the ignition on and hold the central locking button in, hold it for 20 seconds or so as you turn the ignition on (dont the start car). I think its meant to reset the central locking or something. I've read about this helping on 406's with dodgy central locking, the 206 may be the same.
Thanks, will try this one.

I went to dismantler today and tried their 206 remote key, it doesn't work too but I was told that it needs to be reprogrammed and they don't know how to do this.

Anyway, I took remote key back & screwed the case in and went outside, tried it..it worked  - it is the same key but I think it is to do with opening/closing keycase. However, it's not 100% working everytime I press but I must be getting closer to solving this problem! :D

Ok, since having no handbook for 206, what's correct tyre pressure for 1.1i petrol? It has 14" tyres with 30psi I have set but the ride felt hard so it might needs to be lower than 30psi?!
