FAO PS3 owners

Hi all,
I know the ps3 can play ps2 games, but does it go further back than that
I have the entire final fantasy series and it would be pretty sad if i had to sell it off as its not compatible
Also are there any advantages, such as upscaling? or anything i should look out for?
I also have some Japanese games, will these be a problem?

This contains the backwards compatible details.

You can only play PAL PS1/PS2 games. There is upscaling but it isn't that good IMO.

I have a massive FF collection, and despite them not all being listed (primarily VI, which I've just played through again on PS3 ), AFAIK they all work. I can test them over the weekend if you like. As mentioned earlier, Jap/US versions don't run, much to my dismay.

Thanks for the replies all. Apopcalyptic no need mate i think ill get a ps2 instead and make it "region free"
