aww shucks  I should probably give Monkey a namecheck too for keeping an eye on the work units in case they fail. He sits there all day in a cat-like poise ready to restart the client at the first sign of trouble. A true sidekick.

Hey Biffa, what happened to your output? You were pretty much toe to toe with me for a few weeks and now your average seemed to drop a few hundred points.

I also notice the reflection of [SIR]_Petulant getting gradually bigger and bigger in my rear-view. I'm preparing to move aside in a few weeks. ;)

Cheers. :D

Unfortunately the deadlines seem to have tightened up on the smp wu's and I've not been keeping an eye on it, my poor old Opteron 165 just cannae take the pace and was missing the deadlines. I've just zapped the smp client and installed two copies of the single client so that should hopefully pump up me scores a couple a bit per week.

Double whammy was some loser agreed to buy one of my test machines (a non cruncher) and hasn't replied to any emails for the past week. That was going towards my upgrade savings :( So my Core2Duo lovin has had to be postponed.

Shame about the Opteron. I didnt know they'd tightened the deadlines. I hope they dont tighten them further because it takes my 1.83 Core Duo a good 48 hours solid to crunch an smp wu.

The no-sale-of-pc thing might be a blessing in disguise as the price of the intel chips is going to nosedive soon if I recall correctly.

As for me, my ppd is being propped up by the ps3 folding away in the loft. That'll be turned off when I can find a more efficient replacement or just before it cooks itself. Whichever happens first.

I want a mac mini but I'm holding out for spec upgrades/Leopard.
