Does anyone get rapid battery drain after using this? even if I just start the app and immediatly quit the battery will run down over 4-8 hours when usually it would last around 10x longer.

Pertinent info:
Spotify task appears to have cleanly exit with no irregular processes or tasks showing.
No abnormal data contexts - for example its not holding wifi open.
Phone doesn't warm up as you'd normally get if something was stuck in a loop using CPU.
Restarting the phone after quitting spotify will prevent the battery draining quicker than normal.
Phone is a Sony Ericsson Xperia X1.

I've reproduced this several times so its definitly a bug with spotify or spotify triggering a bug or unexpected action within the OS.

So just a heads up to anyone thinking of using this, you may see your battery run down faster than you think.

I only got Spotify on my HTC HD2 today, have used it for about an hour and sent my usual amount of texts and the battery has gone down a wee bit quicker than usual. Will keep an eye on it and report back later :)

I'm wondering if its touching the GPS feature :( - unfortunatly no easy way to tell - theres a bug with HTC (Xperia X1 is built by HTC) + Qualcomm 7200 w/ GPSone and similiar hardware where once an application enables GPS it often doesn't disable properly when the application exits due to falsely thinking another application is also using GPS. I get the same type of battery drain when this happens.

I am really struggling with syncing my playlist to my phone. It is going to take at least 24 hours to do 689 songs its that slow. I have synced my playlist to offline on my computer and that took a few hours. But trying to make the playlist offline on the phone is a joke. Did it take you long?

The first time I started it, it took forever to do anything - even opening the home screen took several minute on wifi. Now it works fairly fast however - but playlist wise I've only synced about 30 songs so far which didn't take long.

Found a GPS toolbar and it doesn't show any activity with spotify so I guess its not that draining my battery.

Well looks like for me Spotify on Windows Mobile is useless unless they update it... not sure what going on but even just starting it up and quitting and the battery has drained completely a few hours later every time - just tried it again today having left it a few days just to make sure it wasn't a problem with the phone - sure enough within 4-5 hours battery warnings when it would normally have lasted atleast until tuesday.

Hmm its strange that Spotify does that. When I am connected to Wi-fi and listen to Spotify the battery goes down quite quick, but when I listen to it in offline mode the battery is fine. I wish Spotify let us search for our music instead of just scrolling down a huge list.. :o
