Hi, here you go

I use this one - lens hood from the new 17-55mm IS lens

Some other options

EW-83DII hood from Canon 24mm F1.4 L USM
EW-83H hood from Canon 24-105mm F4L IS lens

Quesion. would the EW 83 J still work on a DSLR with a 1.3x crop ?

IIRC, the reason that you can use a longer hood when the lens is attached to a crop camera is that the wider edges of the lens aren't used. So, the answer is yes!

Off the top of my head I have no idea.
But 17mm x 1.3 crop = 22mm so I would guess you will see some vignetting at the wide end as the hood is built for 27mm.
