Far cry 2 - cant get into it!

Yep. I was annoyed at the lack of a compass. An auto-save would have been nicer than having to select save, slot, overwrite, yes etc... every time too.

To be fair, these two games are chalk and cheese - FC2 is trying to be lifelike, to a degree, more so than SR2, which is more comical (to me).

Of the two, Saints is more all out in you face fun, but Farcry still offers a lot of enjoyment, if you are prepared to put time into it and forgive some of the glaring faults (super sighted AI and their super bullet resistant skin).

I think it takes a bit to get into, but I quite like the fact it's not just a simple blaster, you have to use some strategy as you are often out numbered.

I agree about the voice acting being terrible though. It's like they spent all their budget developing the game engine and hardly any on the voice actors
 
Yeah.

It looks stunning too - the moving grass, all the little touches - birds flying away when you start a car, the shading etc.
 
If you play this, make sure you make a new save every mission so you can go back to a previous one if you hit a bug where the next mission wont work. I wish i had done this :(
 
I've been a supporter and fan of this game since its release, but I can't believe they haven't fixed the bug with mounted machine guns yet, they simply don't work!
 
I'm getting quite good at using the gun on the jeeps to mow people down. Just purchased an ak-47 with some diamonds, so gonna try that out next.

this game has its faults...but im 70% way through it and i will not play anything else till i have completed it....i coud name a lot of other games that people rant on about here but are absolute rubbish.....its personal taste at the end of the day....if you dont like it dont play it....:)
