far cry 2 problem

im having a major problem with this game, i need to get to mikes bar to get malaria tablets but i follow the signs and drive there but i get half way get malaria tablets and collaspe and have to start again.
i have done this about 5 times now and this is the begining of the game can someone please advise me on what im doing wrong?

im at the start of the game so i have no malaria tablets so looks like i have to revert back to a saved game,bloody stupid as i havent hardly done a thing yet in the game yet,stunning graphics but if the gameplay is like this all the time will be uninstalling very soon
