Far Cry 2 question

Hi,

I recently got this, and have been playing for about an hour or so now. My question is this, do they ever stop shooting you!? i mean ever?

Every guard post i have been through, they shoot me... every village i see... they shoot me, and follow me in cars which magically appeared behind me!

Please tell me they stop shooting at me eventually

Actually that is actually quite off putting. Although its quite cool watching pulling bullets from your own arm!
