I sometimes get this, I havent been able to nail down exactly what it is, but seeing as I can get visual abberations in other games as well. My theory is its overheating parts, probably the graphics card. Seeing as my pc is running as cool as it can get, the only solution I've found is to turn off the pc to let it cool down for a bit.
 
Initially I had this, though for some reason I no longer get it. I noticed that it sometimes got worse when I tried to enable AA. In fact despite having an X2 I can't actually enable AA not because of the frame rate but beacuse all the trees greenery look blocky and mixed with strange shapes. Once I disable it everything is fine. Runs smooth as silk.
