Far cry 2

Hi, I just bought a new motherboard ( p5q pro) and I installed it fine without installing the operatin system, it booted up fine with my current hardrive, well I want to format my hardrive and reinstall the operating system but I dont want to lose my far cry 2 profile because I just got all act 1 diamonds and jackal tapes n it took me ages. is there away to reinstall the operating system without losing my far cry 2 profile data?

Copy the save files from the Program Files onto an external HDD or USB drive?

on vista your farcry 2 save game profile is in documents/mygames....i dont know about xp
