far cry 3 help

Hey,

Decided to install Far Cry 3 for another play through. Updated to 1.0.5, played through for about 6 hours last night and turned it off when I went to bed, loaded it up and I have to start from scratch.

Had a google and changed orbit_api.ini to "GameId = 48", played the intro and saved it. Quit to main menu, and have the option to load/resume. Quit to desktop and reload and again, only option is to start from new.

On top of this and the graphics issue I had where it would quit after the intro mission just after you escape I've played the intro about 8 times now and it's really starting to annoy me.

Any advice on how to get this sorted?

My save games are in C:\Users\All Users\Orbit\48 with the right times on etc.

Some people suggest that disabling internet connection or blocking the Farcry exe in firewall will make the load/resume work.

Like buffalo says it could be trying to load from a cloud save that doesn't exist.
Turning off t'internet should force a local save at least.

I had a similar issue with another game once, it was solved by deleting/overwriting the Cloud Save on Steam. So GBRusty is probably right.

I always turn cloud saves off on every game where there's an option, prefare to save to my pc.

Ubisoft is just the same as Origin and Steam to be fair, never had issues with any of them.

After hours of trying to get the DVD version to work, I decided to buy the digital copy on Steam for £5. Works a treat!

Physical copies are worthless once installed, always better to use G2A or similar and get the code cheaper.
