Using dual core makes the animation too fast, you can run faster etc. Its all good apart from all speaking & cut scenes etc are out of sync. I'm patched right to 1.4 too. Is there a way of stopping this? Tabbing out of the game causes it to mess up so I need it to run on only 1 core when I launch it

Should run perfect with one core

It does run perfect on 1 core
But it runs too fast on 2 cores so I wanna restrict it to just 1 without tabbing out of the game (cos tabbing out causes problems).

Runs fine using both cores on my AMD dual core system as well, have you installed the latest CPU drivers ?

As a last resort you could download a utility like runfirst and create a little batchfile pointing to your farcry exe file and then create a shortcut to the batchfile on your desktop. That way you can always launch farcry and have it running from 1 core without having to alt+tab and set the affinity

Haven't used the cpu driver cos I fear it'll ruin performance in other things

Sounds like you're having performance issues without the driver. I noticed Oblivion without was slower, performance increased after the driver.
